Default Cruise control problem

Hi,

My first issue with the new car, when I set the cruise control and try to reduce the speed using the"-" button it switches the cruise off, anyone else have this problem?

Not sorted yet as I'll leave it until my car goes in for its first service at the end of October.

Dropped the car in today to get the cruise sorted, they "tightened" the contacts on the switch and adjusted the brake pedal, they took it for a 19mile test after the repair (I noted the mileage) got the car back at the end of the day, drove 1 mile and its still not working!

Got another appointment in a few days with the mechanic, will have to tell him to renew the switch this time!

The simple and sometimes most likely thing to check for is broken of disconnected vacuum lines or loose or dirty connectors. Also check the brake light switch. A mis-adjusted brake light switch will cause this problem too.
