Angry Cee'd 1.6 CRDi Problems

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum.

I have a 1.6 LS Diesel that has the hiccup problem from day one, it has had the ECU update to fix this which worked for about 2 weeks, but now the engine hiccups just the same as before. Does anyone have any indication of what else to do about this?

Secondly my car has the climate control problem, if I start driving and put the ACC on at say 16 degrees C the car all of a sudden gets really hot. I have to turn it off or open a window. Is this a problem or is it a case of living with it? Is there a fix for this I.E. a new sensor of somesort???

Now here comes the big problem I have had with the Cee'd is since January this year the car has developed a knock or clunk from the front offside (drivers) suspension, which rattles and shimmies through the steering wheel, the car feels light on the motorway too. The dealer has replaced in the 5 times it has been back for this, the lower wishbone and bushes, the drive shaft, drop link, and the steering rack. The clunk is still there but I've had enough of taking the car back. Could this be the strut or the strut mount bearings? I have actually written a nasty letter to Kia Motors that I want this sorting along with all the other problems or I am going to pursue this and push for a replacement car. I have been having issues that are still unfixed now since September 2007 and I cannot say having owned the Cee'd it has been particularly enjoyable.

Does anyone else here share my feelings???

Have you considered using the RAC to do a formal inspection and report on the vehicle? It's nearly £200 you shouldn't have to pay, but could save you more in the longer term. Vehicle Status Check, Vehicle Inspection
Kia would find it hard to argue with their official breakdown cover provider, and if the RAC accept the job from you as a paying customer they couldn't fudge the findings!

I had an issue with the wife's 08 Reg Cee'd with the hand brake not holding, took it back to the dealer I purchased from & they damaged the centre console trying to access the cable?? Strange when handbrake is adjusted through rear discs, but there you go. 2 months later still on so called back order, so I contacted Kia Customer Services, very nice people, sorted out the issue with the dealer, part is now on it's way to be fitted. Sorry doesn't help with yopur issues, but worth a try, also ZTTMAN has a point, RAC, but get your dealer to pay for it. OR bypass your selling dealer and contact the regional manager.
