To be honest, why get a 2.0 litre?... go to local dealer and test drive the 1.6 CDRi.., ( in fact test them both out if you can)

Whatever you decide, I am sure both engines will give better performance than a 2.0 litre Carens

The Ceed is a much better vehicle all-round than the Carens by a great margin, (apart from luggage space!)

Check the official emission figures and resulting tax bands(2009) as a final crowd pleaser.

To be honest, I drive a lot of miles and don't feel the need for a larger engine, and my insurance, tax and fuel costs feel better about it too .

All the reviews in the motoring press prefer the 1.6 engine option too.

More power m8, and to be honest the £1200 difference between the 2ltr sport and the 1.6 LS is not alot for the amount of spec you get extra.

So what exactly do you get for £1200?

I thought the only differences between the two (ignoring the engine) was larger wheels, privacy glass and a couple of bits of interior trim, or am I missing something?

17" Alloy Wheels
Privacy Glass
Black Bezel Headlamps
Metallic Interior Door Handles
Alloy Pedals
Metallic Interior Door Strips
Electric Folding Mirrors
Follow-me-home Headlamps
Sports Cloth Seat Inserts
Silver Stitching Lines (Seats, Steering Wheel, Front Armrest)
Rear Centre Armrest
BAS (Brake Assist System) - linked to ESP
Electronic Stability Control (ESP)
And don't forget the better engine(power wise) and the 6 speed gearbox.
I think this is worth every penny.

may be only £1200 difference in price but annually it would cost you about £400 a year extra at least an to be honest... there ain't much difference in power mate..... you check em out...the proof in the pudding.

I challenge you to test drive both cars.

The list you gave is for boy racers... if you want a boy racer car get a real one not a ceed.

As for alloy pedals, sports cloth inserts, mettalic interior door strips, your having a laff... why pay for dross?

You'll be telling me next you had 17" wheels put on your Carens lol

No way would I be px ing mine.

Each to their own, nothing wrong with a bit of extra class, as for boy racers in a Kia
I suppose you could say me coming from a VXR you could class me as a boy racer, at 40!
Why do car manafacturers build these models if they are not there to be sold, ho and you forgot the safety extras which are in with the £1200.
Mind you I suppose a boy racer would need these to stop a Ceed

And yes I have put 17s on the Carens along with a rear roof spoiler.
I must be an old racer at heart.

Sorry didn't mean to sound condescending... as you say each to his own, but I would still challenge you to test drive both cars... I think you'll be surprised

I drove a Carens 2.0 for a couple of months and had a Sportage 2.0(new version) for 3 years.. so Ive been around the KIA cars for a while.
