My new Kia Cee'd Automatic is fine in most respects but I'm very bothered about these two points:
1. The ride is SO hard that it crashes and jolts about over even the slightest mark in the road. It's beyong a joke, and more like being on a fairground ride.
2. The climate control is very weak. Today was hardly a hot day, the air-con was flat out, and each time I got out the car, it was cooler out than in. I was welded to the seat.
This is a Kia Cee'd LS Auto. Is this normal and should I just get used to this? I previously had a nasty little Fiat Panda, but the ride was better, and the A/C was like an arctic wind the moment you switched it on.

First off....
Hi and welcome
The ride is hard, but nowhere near as bad as you describe, (ever tried a Panda 100Hp?) perhaps it will improve with time.... or... and here comes the biggie...
The supplying dealer has left the packing pieces fitted to the suspension for transport in place, these should have been removed at the PDI, but it's not unheard of for them to be missed.
As for the aircon, then yes, it is weak and the subject of many threads on here. If you set it it LO then all should be well, in fact the Missus was complaining of nipple chaffing this afternoon
OK, thanks for the reply and for the welcome. Yes, I've heard about the Panda 100HP. I can live with the A/C. I take it the suspension can't be softened in any way? I gather the Pro-Ceed three-door is EVEN harder....!

It's quite good on motorways, I've discovered.
Check that the packing pieces aren't still there, easily done, just pop your head under the arches (with the aid of a torch if needed).
Any leftovers can be removed by jacking the vehicle up and pulling the little fekkers out
You're the first to really complain about the ride, so either there is something radically wrong, or you've just swapped from a 70's Citroen

As Bunker says - no problem with the ride at all and yes the climate control is shite(tm). Check for the shipping doo-dads and moan like hell about the climate.
My missus doesn't stop complaining about how cold the air-con is!!!!!!!! I'd have liked a dual climate control to have been fitted as most new cars have but on the whole it works better than the system I had on my Merc A class.
I have a Smart for 2 as a second car so I'm used to a bumpy ride (lol)......joking aside, I find the Cee'd ok.
If it's as bad as you say there must be something wrong as has been said.
I have a Pro_Cee'd, and I don't think it's a stiff car!
When I go over bumps, the car is fine. I can occasionally feel a bump on the wheel (specially when turning left), but that's a known issue, and there a piece in the steering column that can be changed, that solves the issue. Just go to your dealer.

Hello,
1. Check the tyre pressure or have it checked where you usually do it in London. Sometimes it helps.
2. A/C needs to be switched to Low and then to desired temperature. Anyway A/C in Cee'd is waste of money, I use it in manual mode most of the time.
My aircon was shite(tim_p tm), I complained about it and a temperature sensor was broken (from factory). Now the aircon is still shite but much much better, not as good as in my prev Audi's.
Now it manages to cool the car down in a hot day at least. We had a couple of weeks of ~28 degrees Celsius and it worked ok. Good luck !
