OK.
I have had the unit fitted to the car for a month now and calculated MPG on 3 settings.
I have used brim to brim measurements to accurately record the amount of fuel used and in all I have completed 3500 miles so I have a good range of data.
Normal
Setting 1 Low
Setting 6 high-medium.
The low 1 setting actually reduced MPG by about 2% This shows how lean the original mapped chip is, and thus when reducing the fuel input in the lower range the engine is struggling.
Another thing this shows is the mapping set to achieve the CO2 emmissions of 119. Thus the engine is running inefficiently to achieve this figure!!!!( just checked that figure on Kias site... MY V5 actually says 128!!!!!!!.... has this changed??????????)
The no 6 setting increased MPG by approx 8 %, the engine produced more power in the lower range and it is able to stay in a lower gear at the same speeds as the normal setting without the engine struggling.
The whole torque range from 1 to 3k rpm is a lot smoother and the jump when the turbo kicks in is not so noticeable. Its much easier to overtake in top gear, and also possible to now toottle along in 4th at 30ish without the engine sounding like its struggling
OK so I paid £160 for this unit with a remote switch so you can change from 3 different settings from the drivers seat (good idea

)
At current fuel prices with my monthly mileage of approx 2-2500 miles, the unit will pay for itself in 4-5 months.
Ok this unit is not a TUNIT but another supplier.... anyone who wants to know about it can PM me as I'm not advertising it.
