Question A/C lighting up in auto climate control

When using climate contol at a temperature setting > 15.5 C the handbook states that the A/C will operate automatically according to the sensor reading in regard to interior temperature and humidity.

Does this mean that the A/C button light will illuminate automatically to show that it is operating? The only time the A/C button light has been on has been when the temperature was set to "Lo" or when I have pressed the A/C button manually.

Please can anyone help as I am a little confused?

i think the light has to be on so that the AC operates. The automatic control will switch the AC on/off as needed but the light will stay lit all the time. Light off means no AC at all. When temp set to LO then the AC is always ON (no auto control).

This winter when I used the defroster (max temp + max fan) the AC lamp would come on by itself. It seemed a little weird at -10c.
At +30c in sunlight the AC seems a bit weak, cooler air yes, cold no.
