Question Touch up paint sticks - are they any good?

Hello everybody!

Unfortunately, I’ve found my cars’ engine hood scratched with a sharp object (probably a key). It’s not bent, only the paint is gone.

The local dealers here in Romania don’t have touch up paint sticks like those on the accessories lists in UK. They have recommended me to repaint the entire bonnet, although they haven’t seen the damages.

I don’t want to respray the whole bonnet because it is pretty expensive and I am not sure they will perfectly match the color.

So, has any of you used those repair kits? Are they good? The repair lasts, or washes away in time?

Is the scratch very deep, under the clear coat which protects the metal paint? If it could be polished off?

You can feel it your finger nail. The white/gray primer is visible. I don't think polishing will solve the problem.

The scrath should be filled with something. It's not wide, almost invisible when it rains, but I don't want to leave it that way.

Default don't!!!!!!

i tried using a pen paint to cover some scratches on my fiat before and even if the color was right, the code and everything ----the paint just doesn't match the cars paint job.

and its difficult to apply...

i think it's not necesery to repaint the whole hood......
when i had an little accident(the wall moves and touches the rear bumper of my car hahaha) they polished a small part of the bumper where the dent was and did not paint the the whole bumper...(just the polished area) and came out very well..
