My 1.4SR used 250ml after 1000miles from new. I did expect it to use some oil during its running in period.

I can see I'm gonna have to lift that big 'flap' like thing at the front then ... there's a lot of 'gubbins' under there, is it safe?

If you take it to your local friendly supermarket, I'm sure they will do it for you. If they don't, you can sue them.

Actually I think I read somewhere that there is also something under there called the 'washer bottle' so it might be worth a peep in case that's something else that needs topping up.

Arghhhh!

Don't get me started on that, sometimes I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up back in the 80's.

You're right, mines lasted since last Sept!

Actually I remember I have looked under the bonnet (hood?) cos I recall being somewhat perplexed by the need to use a cheap, tacky prop thing to stop it falling on my head. Talk about money saving, even my old Vectra had a gas strut FFS!

I prefer bar over gas strut, at least I'm sure it won't drop the bonnet on me

That was a joke, now seriously; I checked the oil the other day, and it's not yellow or black, but white?! I was on 1000km mark then.

I think I'll check again, I can't sleep right ever since.

How big the washer bottle actually is? Or should I say washer barrel. That thing is huge.
