HELP WANTED. Door lock mechanism (CEEDMAN -> HELP!!!)
Dear friends,
I have a 1.4 Intense version.
I have install a Viper Car alarm system (model 5002).
Everything installed ok, but there is something left.
We (me and the technician) can not find the way the doors lock mechanism work.
The technician is an authorised "Directed" (Viper) technician. He asks all the other "friends" that install aftermarket Car Allarms, but they do nt have install any in the CEE'D.
We ask "Directed" DIRECTLY via his internal hot line and not even they (the central manufacturer) have install any Car Alarm to CEE'D yet.
For the history, "Directed" is probably the best manufacturer of aftermarket CarAllarm systems (Viper - Python - Clifford) and also sponsors of the "West Coast Customs" team.
The local dealers (Greece), does not help (they don' t know or the do not want to tell us).
So we do it by the hard-way (trial and error).
But until now, all we have find is not logical and use too many wires.
Here is in detail :
1st of all we found that the locks use reverse pollarity when lock-unlock.
The wires that control the locks at the driver's door, lock/unlock the left doors and unlock the trunk. They do not lock/unlock the right doors or lock the trunk.
These are 4-6 cables and use all the 2 relays from the Viper allarm system.
Logically, there must be other 4-6 wires at the door of the co-driver. Or not.
The switch at the main console, use data comunications with a central interface. You can figure it out from the 18-20 pins connector on the back of it.
From what we have discover untill now, there are 2 possible scenarios :
1. To use 2 more relays, find the other cables that control the right locks and somehow, connect them to the Viper alarm (not preferable - too many wires/connections/cuts...and so on).
2. Open the interface from the main console and solder 2 cables directly to the switch (too risky - direct connection to electronic parts).
When you press the lock button, you hear a relay somewhere beneath the main organs and over the steering wheel.
I am sure, that there will be a main cable somewhere, that control all the other functions/relays/signals... needed for lock unlock the doors.
PLEASE (Ceedman if you hear me).
If any one knows how to connect the wires, or which cables exactly control the locks, will be very helpfull.
Before we check every hole/wire/corner of the car, i want to ask the forum.
I do not know if I am the first to install an aftermarket CarAllarm to CEE'D, but there is no other installer in Greece or at the central manufacturer that have install one and help us.
I am not 100% sure, but I think the locks are operated through the switches talking on the CAN bus. If that is right you will need an interface to connect the Viper to the vehicles CAN system.
It is possible to get a Can bus adaptor to allow you interface the alarm with the cars systems, depending on the adaptor, it will allow you to use the remote start, anti hijack, turbo timer systems on after market alarms out there.
The problem is tracking down the correct wiring diagram for the car...
Did you solve this? Haven't had time to visit it much lately, but if not have you tried posting the same question on the Greek forum? gkc.gr , there's a Cee'd section there too. I am sure you can't be the only one here to have such a problem.
Personally, I have quite yet understood under what circumstances the doors do and don't lock. I tried clicking the remote for lock in the same fashion my Dad does with his Astra - he does it often before we have all got out - it don't lock! I guess my Dad does actually know that his does?! I just assumed the Cee'd did this too until my driving instructor friend came over and we were playing about with the car. Also nothing locks if anything is not actually properly latched shut (e.g. boot) so I now listen very carefully when locking remotely.
We (me and the technician) can not find the way the doors lock mechanism work.
I found this on an another (foreign language) Ceed-forum. This is a translation only, the stuff is not verified by me.
“About the door trigger wires:
front left - red wire
rear left - white wire
5th door/trunk - green-black wire
front right - blue-orange wire
rear right - green-orange wire
if they are made independent (diode), they can be connected to the same input of the alarm.”
Unfortunately there were no ifos about the locks.
@b1tmaster0,
would you share with me how your Viper was connected (wire colors), and where the connections are made. I’m asking this because I’m considering to buy the same alarm. (In the meantime I will write to the mentioned Ceed-forum, asking about the door locks.)
Thanks.
I collect all your replies and thank you all for your respond.
Unfortunately I have too much work and that prevents me from finish the installation of the allarm kit.
In the mean time, someone from the Greek VIPER dealer, contact me, because i had send many leters to KIA and to VIPER also.
I explain him the problem and he reply that he will search "from the inside".
If anybody is still interested, the solution follows below.
The original post contains some mistakes.
The followings are tested and verified on a Ceed lx 2007.
The door locks are „negative door locks”.
The following wires need to be connected:
- ICM Relay Box M08-B connector, 17. position, YELLOW/ORANGE wire to lock, and
- ICM Relay Box M08-B connector, 12. position, YELLOW wire to un-lock the car.
That's all.
The location of the connector is shown on the picture.
