Default Servicing - Handbreak tightness?

My sister has a Ceéd and since she had it the handbreak used to have to be pull up quite a bit for it to actually work and hold the car.

It went in for a service last wednesday and since she got it back the handbreak isnt much difference (i assume it wasnt adjusted)

i quized the technitian about this and he says kia recommend 7-10 clicks on the handbreak. . is this correct? or should it be more like 4 clicks? (like other cars ive seen)

Mines the same in fact I need to pull it fully on for it to be sure of holding the car. It comes up fully and won't go any further - no noticed or counted the clicks but it reaches a definite stop rather than just gets really tight.

Funny that, my SW takes about 5 or 6 clicks and its less than a week old. All my other cars were max 3/4!

Ive read somewhere about it being a common fault when they are new, but thought this might of been fixed at the service. . but aparantly not

I shall be asking for mine to be tightened at the first service. I'm used to it, but if the other half parks the car, then it starts to slowly edge downhill (I live on a hill) if more then 1 person gets in next time...

My Cee'd SW has recently been to 20.000 km service. I specifically asked the garage to tighten the handbreak. The auto mechanic tightened it a bit, but told me that if he tightened it more it would break when I turn the wheels Weird explanation. It's better now, but it still has to go up around 5-6 clicks!

Mines not had a service yet (only 7500 miles since Sept) only been in for warranty work - radio died and climate control is utter crap!

When I test drove a cee'd last summer for 3 days, I said on return that the handbrake needed adjustment, as it appeared to nearly touch the roof. He said then that the adjustment was correct.
On delivery of my SW I remembered the fact but it doesnt seem as high, though as others have commented it does seem high compared to other cars.
I suppose I have got used to it now.

Mine is the same! It only really holds the car on the last click.
This seems to be an overall issue!

Mine also breaks more on the left wheel than on the right!
