They do that in KIA services in Serbia? That sounds almost unbelievable but if they do it indeed, I should start planning my trip to our neighbour coutry! Is that an official information from KIA Serbia?

The LPG tank normally sits in the spare wheel well, so you end up replacing the spare with a tin of Holts Tyreweld.

Boot space is generally not compromised

Seeing the positive side, I guess you don't need to remove all the holiday luggage when you get a flat tyre!

Nope, and worth carrying a can for that reason alone (tyre places don't like it mind ).

And whilst we're on the subject, when was the last time that anyone checked the pressure in their space saver spare?

Oh, and don't forget to replace it if you still have the car after 5 years...

Yup! I got this from the KIA service in Belgrade.

yWhen you install the torus LPG tank in the booth, You loose some space, but honestly, these days, on every 20 km you can see some gas station with car repair shop or something like that and for those occasions, the space saver tyre does the job more than well.
I think that it would be possible to install low-profile LPG tank so that the spare saver can be mounted on top of the tank so that you don't have to carry the spare in the luggage compartment, but has to be checked with the dealer.
I'm going to do the modification in next few weeks and post all info here with some photos

I considered LPG for a while, LPG being 3x cheaper than petrol now. There is a problem with installation:

KIA Croatia has outsourced this, so you go to a guy that has a contract with KIA, and he is bloody expensive (cca 2000€ incl. paperwork).

You loose KIA warranty on parts affected by LPG installation (catalyst, intake manifold...), only two years from the LPG guy.

KIA engines are based, more or less, on Mazda engines (at least before cee'd, I'm not sure if that is still the case). Mazda had severe problems with LPG, burning valve seats within 30000km.

For all this, I wouldn't dare to install LPG. But if KIA Serbia is doing this in house, I would consider a short trip there

The price is 1050 Eur, without paperwork.... so it woulg go to some 1200 Eur incl. all papers.
KIA Service has stated that one would not loose any guarantee if the LPG installation is done in their service so....

Stoff... Here's address and tel. No of KIA Belgrade, so ask them what could be done: +381 11 316 54 96.
