Slick 50 and the likes are nothing more than 'snake oil', if they were really that good don't you think that the major oil manufacturers would add them to their oil's as standard?

More importantly, if you read the handbook you'll find that any additives (fuel or oil) are specifically prohibited and ignoring this dvice could be the best way of flushing your 7 year class leading warenty straight down the pan.

If the consumption is that bad then take it back to the supplying dealer and have them investigate the problem.

I agree with bunker to the letter.

I know a couple of guys, one satisfied, and one with busted injection system and catalyst, both were using the same additive on two different cars.

No worries, no slick 50 or other additives will find a way to my car.

This weekend I made a trip, and with very carefull driving on the country road and highway (2/3 and 1/3) and no city driving I was able to get 47mpg. I don't see a way to get a better milleage out of this car. Ok, it's possible if I go out, warm the enigine, go out of the city, reset the computer, drive really carefully with AC off for a few kilometers, and then take a measurement of the fuel consumption. This way I believe I could get 55mpg, but it's not a real life scenario, isn't it?

So, could someone with 1.6CRDi SW do me a favor, and check his average fuel consumption when driving in the city for a few kilometers? With AC on if possible (mine is on most of the time).

Is it possible that displayed values are wrong? Did you measure the consumption yourself?

I find my fuel economy isn't that great at all, a weeks driving, 2-400Kms, I get around 6-6.4l/km, thats a mixture of townish and motorway driving. (Not nice and gentle british motorway driving mind you, but if you've driven in Ireland for any length of time and want to get somewhere, you'll know what I mean - Its a bit like wacky races [for those wishing to get from A-B] and lane disipline really doesn't not exist, "I prefer the outside lane, therefore I shall drive there, sod everyone else on the road" {Mentality of 'I pay my road tax, therefore if I want to drive at 60kph in a 100 zone I will'} Rant over -T'was a hard trip to work )

Anywho I thinking of going back to Millers Super 4, as a fuel additive. It worked absolute wonders in my 2.0HDi 206. Made the car quicker, and more economical around town. Haven't used it in the car yet - a new car shouldn't need it right??!!

Yes, I always check my real fuel consumtion on refuelling and it's so far confirmed what the computer shows...

I own my pro_ceed 2.0 CRDI (140bhp) for 13 day now, about 750km (about 466 miles) and the first tank showed on the boardcomputer 8.0L/100km (35.3MPG imperial), but actually when I've recalculated things it was more like 8,7L/100km (32.5MPG imperial) and that totally suck lol

It is my first diesel and I don't want to drive like miss daisy, so if I get it to around 6,5-7,5L/100 km (43-37MPG) I'll be happy with it since I have around 90% of city driving and only 10% motorways.

Thanks for the feedback.

It is the short journeys which are the main cause of the low mpg especially in stop go traffic. One particular problem I have had is the car has stalled on me a few times in first gear and I tend to over accellerate moving off to prevent the embarrassment of holding up traffic.

Today I had a 46 mpg journey of about 35 miles, hopefully this will be the first swallow of the summer for me.
