Hi

Are you talking about US Gallons here (41mpg)?

If you look here, the conversion from 5.7l/100km works out at >49.5mpg (Imperial/UK)

hi all, 1.6 ls sw diesel just passed 5500 miles filled up twice this week at the same pump, the first tank full gave me 47 mpg and the second tank was 43 mpg, both journeys about the same distance, so how does this work?

Err,

Different driving conditions i.e. traffic, weather, temp, your mood

Dodgy batch of fuel

or

Your engine's fooked

You choose

My money would go on the fuel especially if it's supermarket stuff.

Hi irishpancake, perhaps I made a small mistake, but the 5,7 liter per 100km is correct

Well, I've had my SW LS 1.6 diesel (115) for over 4 months now and covered 3500 miles. These figures show my actual fuel consumption at each fill up since 1 Nov 07. The best figure of 49.27 mpg was achieved with 280 of the 350 miles covered on motorways at 75mph max, but mainly at 65 - 68 mph.
46.51

47.45

41.82

46.25

44.82

42.61

46.61

49.27

44.25

The rest of my figures are for combined; half on dual carriage way (A1) and half on quiet country roads.
KIA 's quoted figures for my vehicle are Urban (cold) 47.9, Extra urban 65.7, and Combined 57.6.
HOW I WOULD LOVE TO ACHIEVE FIGURES ANYWHERE APPROACHING THOSE!! I don't know where they get them from.
I'm really trying to match my previous car, Ford C-Max 1.6 Tdci (109) which easily gave 50+ mpg.

I use cruise control quite a bit on the motorways; perhaps I shouldn't if I want better fuel consumption.
