Default Pulling away.

Has anyone else noticed how tricky this car is to pull away from standing. The clutch engages suddenly at the top of the travel. Iv had the thing for a couple of weeks now and its still tricky. I think Kia got this bit of the design wrong it should be far more progressive. Before anyone pipes in sighting user error. I have two other cars a Pergeot 107 petrol and a Mercedes A180 CDi I use for driving tuition.

No problem here - mine is fine, as was the 3-day trial vehicle I drove too.

No problem with mine either. The tricky thing with modern cars is that the hydraulic clutches isn't adjustable as they where back in the old days This means that all cars have a slightly unique clutch and they aren't adjustable. I tend to think that all clutches are a bit funny the first try but after a couple of minutes they are as all the others. Of course yours could be faulty, it's quite tricky to say anything cause it's a feeling of you as a user. Go to the dealer and try some demo cee´d and see what you feel there.

Hi

I find the clutch fine, progressive and predictable. If your car is petrol (as one of the 100 winners I'm guessing it is) and your other cars are diesel perhaps you need more revs to pull away cleanly.

I did the test-drive on a 1600CRDI and a 1400Petrol... and really easy to drive!

Nope, although I find that as soon as it's changed to second the thing goes off like a rocket!
