Default 1.6 CRDi 66kw vs. 85kw ?

Does anybody tested both versions of 1.6 diesel? Any real life experience??
What are real engine (or trans.etc.) differents between Ceed 1.6 66kw and 85kw diesel versions?
I have heard (at kia dealer), that the both engines are exactly the same only the ECU software is different. So, my question is, if this is a case, is it possible to 'chiptune' 66kw version to 85kw version? And I am also wondering, what are the "chiptuning" limits for both 1.6 diesel versions - are they the same? (let say plus 20% = cca 100kw?)

Can't help you much more than that!

Much better performance with the 85 kW engine + fuel consumption is not much higher!

according to Kia Goteborg the weaker one is "enviromental friendly" as we call it here i Sweden. In our case we get 10 000 skr (€1100) back from the govermant if we chose the "green" one.
Another 6000 skr (€650) for the Fap if there is one of those installed on the car... wich it is, total 16000 skr in all.

Is the 66kW engine available in Sweden ? When I bought mine there was only one diesel engine with the 2.0 to be available in spring 2008. When looking at Kia swedish home page it only shows the 1.6 CRDI 85kW/115hp diesel

No it's not. Just an inside info I got from a dealer, but it's on the way... as is the automatic transmission for the 2.0 CRDi, march I think it was.

Ha det gott!

Hello everybody!!

First, sorry for my english
Any user may clarify the type of distribution method that have 1.6 and 2.0 CRDI models??

Distribution engine method is referrer to "metallic chain" or "plastic belt". I hope to explain well, but i don't know translate for this parts correctly

Thanks.

I guess you're talking cam belt or cam chain. I dunno but would suspect and hope it's a chain. Belts are quieter running but prone to wear and the need for replacement, usually at around 60k miles. Chains are noisier but more reliable.
But I could be wrong...

Thanks tim_p, yes! this is the correct term, "cam belt" and "cam chain"

In some spanish car-forums said that 1.6 CRDI have cam chain, but 2.0 CRDI have cam belt ¿? , however other forums clain otherwise

I'm not sure about this but thanks for your reply

According to my dealer my 1.6 CRDi has a cam chain. I cannot say what the 2.0 has though.
