Dash light rheostat strange behavior
I have noticed that when I turn down the dash light all the way using the rheostat, sometimes it's just very dim, and sometimes it's completely off. Leaving it at the minimum setting, the light comes on and off at irregular intervals.
I have tried to find out if it has something to do with an ambient light sensor, or something similar. But I can't figure out if it's intended behaviour or a fault.
I've had my Ceed SW for 3 weeks now and have done 1200 miles in it. The first time my dash lights went off was the morning after I'd picked it up on my way to work. It went back to the garage they found nothing wrong.
Didn't do it again until tonight on way home.
I have my rheostat turned right down as the dash lights are very bright but it appears that the dash lights cut out completely as when they come back on approx 3-10 seconds later all the engine lights come on like they do at ignition.
Has anyone else experienced this. I will be phoning the garage again tomorrow as I want this sorting out.
Not sure if it's significant but when it did it tonight I was approaching traffic lights and my mobile phone bluetooth head set lost it's connection to my phone at the same time. Could it be some sort of external interferrence affecting the dash lights in some way?
hi all i saw the posting above ... the lights random off problem
i just got the same thing yesterday and it is wierd indeed ...
The first time: my wife had her laptop out on the front seat and as she was checking something online (inner city WiFi network) the dash lights went off as if the computer reset itself - we asumed it was a WiFi/Borad computer interference so we turned the laptop off ...
i had my head and fog lights on and after the reset the fog lights switched off ... after ... the warning light for the trunk open lights on and was shimmering for some time then went off ... all back to normal for 5 min ... then as we are driving in the downtown heavy traffic the same thing ... dash light off then back on and the fog lights switched off again... as we were leaving for the weekend i kept on driving and for 40min hghwy it was ok than at sam point someone calls me on my cell (nokia 5300) and as the phone rings the lights go off again ... exactly the same thing ... it was foggy all the way so im thinking could it be a temporary thing due to high ionization in the air ... in any case it shouldn't be so sensitive to radiowaves ...
will call my dealer first thing in the AM
did anyone elese have the same problem?
