Default Glove box light

Just a quick and simple question. Does the glove box light on your LS diesel only come on when the ignition is on or in aux position? That is what happens on my car.
PS I mean also when the lid is opened!!LOL.

I concur. The glove box light only works with the key turned & box open.

I could have checked but the wife has literally just driven off in the car! - will check later or tomorrow and report back.
I can see good reasons for each scenario though so I guess that as two cars are doing the same thing it would seem like they all will (light on only when key in and turned).

Thanks for replies, I am now sure they all operate only through the ignition. I can see both sides of the argumemt, this way there is no chance the light staying on all night in the garage due to a faulty switch, but on other hand I can see the need to look in glove box at night when parked.

Yep, mine only works when key in and turned - you'd think it could be on same circuit as interior light that way it would work when door open (Ex-Nissans example of looking at night when parked)
Still, on the bright side (no pun!) I found the little knob that controls the air-con (harrumph!) to the glove box - dopey dealer didn't know.

With that little knob you can direct cool air into the glovebox. Nice in the summer to be able to keep a cold drink. You must direct air flow forward for the cold air to circulate into the glovebox.
