Default When does the UK get the Ceed SW 2.0ltr diesel?

Just found this forum this evening.

I've had a 1.6GS Ceed on the 3 day test drive and am very impressed with the car. Considering that for the last 2 years I've been driving two new £45k cars, I didn't think the Ceed would satisfy me, but the quality of it has surprised me. I did find that there was a bit too much tyre noise and the suspension wasn't very good on country roads, but overall I'm very impressed and was sorry to hand it back.
I'm going to try the 1.6 diesel and am seriously considering getting a SW LS model.
However, ideally I would like a 2.0 diesel with automatic. I've read a few magazine reviews of the 2.0 diesel SW, so it must be available in other countries. So when does it come to the UK? The Kia dealer can't tell me.
Also, does anyone know if the automatic gearbox will be available with the diesel engine?

I don't want to order a 1.6 diesel manual now, only to find that a 2.0 auto is available in a few months time. I intend to keep the Ceed for a very long time (due to the warranty) so would rather wait for my ideal spec.

If anyone is at their Kia dealership, could you ask about the 2.0ltr diesel?
My local dealer doesn't know. It can't be too long away if the magazines have reviewed it in Europe in August.

Still the one with automatic transmission (that I am interested in) is not availible until feb -08.
Btw, ANYBODY that knows how many gears the diesel 2.0 auto has? Two dealers here in Goteborg and nowan knows...

d3matt - If you're used to driving £45k cars then make a note of how the climate control works (in mine, you set it on 21degrees and just leave it there). When you get the cee'd you'll find that the Kia idea of climate control aint what you're used to!!
Other than that, for a 14k car with a 7 year warranty it's pretty damn good!

saying that, I phoned to book it in about my duff radio and the first thing the telephone droid said was 'did you buy it from us?' - now someone convince me I'm wrong but that didn't bode well for future warranty 'issues' did it?

hello here in denmark, i have ordered the 1.6 diesel with automatic transmission, the first info i got, was that i would get the car in early december, but now the dealer how informed that i shall not expect it until early februar 08, or possibly april 08

i havent been able to get any info, about the delay, other that KIA has problems with the automatic drive on the diesels?

does anyone know any more?

sincerely

From the info I've read in various places the production have'nt started yet, diesel+auto that is.
It is a 4 gear transmission on the 1.6 CRDi, isn't it? Hoping that they adding a gear or even better two on the 2.0. Something is telling they wont tho...
