Default Cee'd 1600CRDI Chip Tuning

As some of you might notice, I'm considering buying the a Pro_Cee'd next year.

But I'm gathering some information already, and I thought I'd share with you guys. I've contacted a very good chip tuning company here in Portugal:
Vilauto Competições

And they can get more 25bhp and 50Nm, in "soft mode". This is very good, from a "small" engine (140bhp). They have more agressive "mappings" but I think with this one it would be pretty good!

By the way, what turbo does the 1.6CRDI engine has?

I take it that you don't mind voiding the " 7 Year Warranty " ???????

This is rewriting the ECU sotware, it's impossible to detect!
And it's reversible. So no problems with the warranty!

And these values are conservative! There are Ibizas 130bhp with >220BHP here in Portugal! As well as Megane DCi100 with 150BHP.
When the WTCC was here in boavista the BMW engineers were very impressed by vilauto's 330D.

And... it's not only a power increasement! You also get better millage (on normal driving)!

So hows the ECU rewritten? Is it done through the OBD port?
I'd bet anyone tech worth his salt could detect it using crc or suchlike. If you're hanging an external box on there then maybe OK if you remove it prior to a service but..... say you have an accident - insurance will certainly detect it and then you have no insurance - the accident you just had could cost you very dearly.

7 years warranty is worth too much to me - if I wanted a faster car I'd have bought one in the first place!

I'm just glad to know the engine can run at much higher power than the original! It means it's very well made and resistant!

When I get mine... I'll see if I'll do it or not! I still have to wait for quite a few months!

FrEaKZoIdE I have the Dragon Performance ecu fitted to my 1.6 crdi Ceed. I was not expecting a big difference in performance from the unit as past experiance with such add on ecu's has been poor but this one does what it says and I am very pleased with the increased low to mid range performance plus better fuel comsumption.

I bet it can, but how long it will? That remains to be seen
I bet no tuner will give you any warranty

How come they talk about a 2litre 115 BHP engine then?
(I don't actually know how many BHP the 2 litre car claims is it available - kia.co.uk don't seem to list it). Apologies if the following comment is based on a complete lack of knowledge on my part but... who'd buy a critical piece of tuning kit from a company that didn't even know the size of the engine it was tuning?

yes, it is weird ...it should have 140BHP..or they've got the capacity wrong and it is for the 1.6 engine in fact
