Question Bio-Ethanol fuel in Cee'd 1.4 petrol

An Irish fuel company, Maxol, is now selling their unleaded fuel with 5% bio-ethanol in it.

I have emailed the Kia salesman that sold me my Cee'd to enquire can I run my car on it and if it voids any warranty, but am curious to see fellow owners feedback on this?

In Sweden we have had 5% E85 (ethanol) mixed in for several years. You cannot buy petrol without this here.

The KIA dealers are selling them as crazy so there is no problem. Since the taxation on E85, petrol and diesel are vary a lot, there have been many discussions about mixing more E85 in the petrol, manually to reduce the cost. I know a lot of people that run's their petrol cars with additional 25-30% E85 in the summer. In the winter this is a bad idea since you will have trouble starting the car when it's below freezing. So the bottom line, in Sweden we have now choice than to buy the 5% E85 mixed petrol and if a car couldn't run on it it would not be sell able here. 5% E85 is nothing to worry about, it's when you mix in more that 20-30% you have to make sure that all components in the car really can handle the E85, gaskets and other rubber parts may not handle the ethanol so well.
