Lightbulb Kia Cee'd - The "Orange" Problem

Hi, as you can tell, i'm relatively new here , still, I have noticed alot of comments about the Cee'd's horrible orange interior and, unless you have the top spec mode, you can't turn the orange brightness down.

I found this quite annoying so I popped down to halfords and got myself some ''Type S Touring'' interior lights and a few extensions. Ive posted the results in my 'garage'. feel free to take a look!

The blue lighting makes it alot easier on the eyes and also adds some lovely ambience to the all-black interior. If anyone is interested in how i set it up, i'll gladly post some day time pics of the layout.

'Horrible' is a bit of an exaggeration but......

Yes please to the details of how / what you did. I'd certainly be interested in an idiots guide.

The Cee'ds more expensive brother... Hyundai I30 is uglier on the outside, but much better on the inside:

I agree that the inside does look better but how much more expensive is it? There must come a point where you're starting to pay 'mainstream' prices for well, frankly, 2nd tier cars. I've no problem with the price I paid for my cee'd (and what I've got) but if it hadn't been for the 7 year warranty then I might have made a different choice.
BTW - the dash itself look similar to my old Audi TT - wonder if it'll suffer the same issues?

I agree I prefer the interior of the ceed (but I am likely biased) , the I30 looks a bit of a clutter, I like a cleaner layout particulariy for radio. I also prefer the half leather in the Ceed LS

Hi Tim P

I am not sure what you mean by the ceed being a second tier car.

I looked and drove both the Auris and Focus before selecting the Kia.

Yes indeed the the 7 year warranty was the deal clincher, but in most areas I preferred the ceed.

The only other car that I was really tempted by was the Nissan Qashqai, which I still really like.

2nd tier - not mainstream, bit like comparing Panasonic with Yamada (say). All reviews say Focus handles better than anything in it's class, similarly the VW Golf. cee'd apparantly doesn't come close to either.
I'd suggest the Nissan is aimed at a totally different market.
I'm not belittling the cee'd at all, after all I pick up mine this Sat!

Regarding that the Hundai I30 sibling is expensive. Here in Sweden they are about the same. In fact scary similar....
