The normal maintence interval is 12500miles are one year (which ever first). However the manual shows Engine oil and Engine oil filter to be
replaced at 12500 miles Without Catalyzed Particulate filter , and 10,000 miles with Catalyzed Particulated Filter (chap 7 page 10).
Am I correct in thicking that the diesel cars sold int he UK are all Fitted with CPF. Hence oil Change is 10,000 miles

Reading the manual thats just what it seems to say but where does it say the UK cars have the CPF?
I assume there is no electronic indicator of when the service is due on the cee'd?
JCK is right, the manual does say 10,000 if CPF fitted.
tim_p is right, where does it say UK cars have it fitted,
BUT,
Read the other part where it lists all the reasons for doing Oil/Filter change at 5000 miles, short journey's, dusty conditions, commercial use, etc, etc.
It just about covers EVERY type of driving conditions, so which do we all use???

How much oil does the cee'd engine hold? Using something like Mobil 1, if it's 8 litres then you're looking at nearly £100 - if Kia provide warranty for 7 years then so long as you use recommended oil then I guess every 5k would be OK but a bit ovber the top poss. Could work out unnecessarily expensive too.

According to my dealer there are no electronic service reminder in the cee'd. A think this is a bit strange since "all" cars on the market have this.

Cynical me says it so that they can invalidate the warranty if you forget just one service - maybe by making the 10k / 12.5k confusion helps towards that end too!!
On picking up my new ceed today I asked specifically reference the warranty and service intervals and was told 12500 miles or 1 year for the diesel.

Be carefull of what the salesman tells you (unless he writes it down also), if you check the handbook there is clear reference to oil changes earlier than 12500, depending on driving conditions etc, I think if they want to 'void' the warranty it would be very easy for them to do so.
I have got just over 10500 on mine now so I need to get it booked in.

Oil change is only at 10,000 under servere usage conditions as stated below.
a. Repeated short distance driving ( what is a short distance and would you realistically clock up 12500 miles in a year doing short distances and of course how would Kia know)
b. Extensive idling (ditto as above)
c. Driving on dusty rough roads (I live in a town not a desert)
F.More than 50% driving in heavy city traffic during temperatures above 32 degrees ( In England fat chance)
g.Driving in mountainous areas (dont drive up and down Ben Nevis to work)
h. towing a trailer (dont have a trailer)
i. driving for patrol car or taxi ( im not a policeman/Security officer or a taxi driver)
j. Driving in very cold weather (wet yes extreme cold no)
k. constant driving over 106mph ( I dont live in Germany and use the autoban to work)
l. frequently driving in stop and go conditions (if I drove into central london each day a possibility but a. I dont and b. again how would they know.
So for me the only real possible one to watch is frequent stop and go conditions which for me isnt a problem as I dont travel in rush hour traffic very often due to shift work.
For me its in the wording UNDER SEVERE USAGE CONDITIONS of which I am more than happy certainly dont apply to me personally so I will be sticking to the 12500 service intervals.
