Default Kia Ceed SR 1.4

Just thought I would try out the forums and post a new thread! I have recently bought a new Kia Ceed SR 1.4 and I am very pleased with the vehicle in every way.

I was wondering if anyone knows what the servicing costs are like? Also it states that the first oil change should be at 12,500 miles seems a bit long, any thoughts?

Cheers!

Hi Haze,
I was given a 'rough quote' when I ordered my 1.6 CRDi LS. They told me the service costs (12500 mile) would be about £125.00
That is for the diesel, I didn't ask about the petrol versions.
I am sure if you phoned your service department, they would tell you the exact cost.
Hope that helps.

Does the owners manual give any indication of expensive services, like cam belt (if applicable) change?

This might give you a better feel for the servicing costs .

Thanks. No sign of anything expensive but then I'd suspect something like a cam belt change may not appear on a service schedule (specifically to hide the cost!)

True, the Cee'd does use chains as opposed to a belt, hopefully they won't start to 'clatter' after the milage is racked up.

Just curious I have the same engine in mine, what kind of mpg are you getting from yours?

Hi Irish, at the moment we are currently averaging 38 to 42 mpg. I would stress though this is driving the vehicle in 90% short trips and in heavy rush hour traffic.

I did use the vehicle on a long run from Durham to Dartford and done the maths on what I achieved, it came in about 48ish.

Still the vehicle only has 2,500 on the clock so hopefully it will improve!

Best regards, Haze!
