The USB connection is not yet fully I-Pod compatible so only plays MP3's and not the I-Pod's native AAC format, I corrected this in mine by having iTunes convert all tracks to MP3. Unfortunately you do loose some space doing this but not a huge amount.

Kia say full I-Pod compatability is coming, with some luck they will offer an upgarde as I suspect it will just be software based. (please KIA? )

Has anyone seen this in writing from Kia? Any tech bulletins about it (or anything for that matter - tech info always of interest!)

According to the danish Kia website (Kia Denmark), Ceed's produced June 2007 or later should be iPod compatible.

Default ipod compatibility

Hi all,
The cee'd was never marketed as being iPod compatible from day one, just MP3 compatible.
I use my iPods (nano and mini) with no worries as it's mostly loaded with MP3s. The cee'd will play and control these no problem and recharged your 'pod at the same time.
The latest cars (like the SW, cracking car to drive) are fully compatible and come with a dedicated iPod cable. The cable is not backward compatible with other cee'd cars as the connection is slightly different.
I've tested my nano in an SW with the new cable and it works really well - just as good as an MP3 loaded iPod in the early cee'ds.

As mentioned, convert your ACC files to MP3 and you're sorted.
Happy cee'ding!

Yes this is what I do too, but full compatibility allows access to the iPod playlists too.

All the adverts I've read have said 'iPod compatible' no mention of 'fully' in there but...

My iPod is an old Gen 4, all tracks are .MP3s and it won't work - not had a chance to check for new iPod firmware, maybe thats the next step. Saying that, I'm looking at a Kenwood double din DVD/Nav unit that'll sort out any such issues - anyone out there fitted an aftermarket stereo yet? Any adapters to get the steering wheel buttons working?

My Ceed has the word "iPod" printed between the USB and the AUX sockets. The Dealers slightly older demo car did not have that print. I guess it's safe to assume that the word iPod indicates full iPod compatibility.
