Default Kia Cee'd, Cruise control addition

Hi all,
I am thinking about having a cruise control added to my new Cee'd, I have been quoted £550 (UK) for Kia to do it.
Does that sound about right, or is there anywhere else I could get it done (without affecting 7 year warranty)?
Many thanks

Why not consider a good aftermarket Rostra or VDO electric actuator cruise control.

Thanks for that Ron, I have had a look on the Rostra site, there is no mention for the Cee'd, I will drop them a line and let you all know. The only worry I have is about the Kia warranty should anything go wrong down the line. Would Kia void the warranty because of the after market cruise control?

Ahh! Just the topic I've been looking for..!

I'm living in Ireland; where the Cee'd is limited to the EX and LX models only. The only 'option' we have is metallic paint.

My question is whether the Cruise Control that Kia will install is going to have an integrated factory finish (such as on the indicator stalk) or would it be a button placed somewhere obscure on the dash?

Hi, as soon as I get my rear end repaired I will be seriously talking with Kia to find out exactly what is involved and what I am going to get for my money. As you say, I need to know about the 'controls'. On the factory fitted cruise for the Cee'd, the 'control buttons' (as shown in the owners manual) are on the steering wheel where my radio controls are. As soon as I know, I will let you all know.

Hi Alarmin.

I've recently seen photos of the Ceed's top-spec interior and it does indeed have a Set+ and Set- Criuse Control button on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Very classy. Any updates on your car being repaired/modified?

Still not got the rear end repaired yet. So far, I am told that the aftermarket cruise will have an additional stalk. The factory fitted type have the buttons on the steering wheel.

As soon as I get the rear end repaired I will get more details about the cruise and will post back

Rostra have a large selection of switches, including a very neat steering wheel mount RF switch. See link to the Cerato thread posted above.

Fitting legitimate aftermarket products like an in dash stereo, cruise control, etc., will not impact on the warranty - confirm this with Kia.

Hi,Alarmin.
I live in Bulgaria and yestarday order KIA Cee'd 1.6 CRDi engine.
In the specification I see that only 2 liters CRDi can optionaliy be with cruise control but diler sad..NO we already can put cruise only for 276 lv=190 $ and I say OOOH YES :-)
Diler gave me some sort of user manual(Bulgarian) and there is a pictrure of wheel-on the left side is a button of rado/cd control and on the right is the cruise control buttons.
I hope in a month I will drive my new car, so wish all of you NO TROUBLE drive.
Stefan
p.s. Anyone have english user manual (pdf format)

Hi

I want CC also. Romanian dealers do not have yet the price list... but it is available on Romanian site (KIA cee'd - Responds to your life!) as accessory for 104 EUR (w/out VAT).. so the price mentioned above is correct... hope they are allowed to install it on my machine, which is not top model (it appears as accessory only for 2.0 petrol engine, and not for 1.4 as I have)

Good job, hope I'll have it soon !

Leo
