Untill there is a dedicated section for the Cee'd, I hope this area will do.
I have had my 1.6 CRDi LS Cee'd for a week now, only done about 200 miles, (plus been shunted), but I thought that I would post a few comments for those that are interested.
I have found the Cee'd to be very lively, especially for a 1.6 diesel, the steering (EPS) is very precise. It is not a 'hot hatch' but it does hold the road very well.
The road noise is very acceptable, I dont think I have had the audio system on greater than level 6 volume.
Fuel consumption is 'getting there' most of my last weeks driving has been stop/start town driving, with three short stints (about 10 miles each way) on a motorway cruising at 70MPH. My trip computer is now showing 43.4 MPG and is steadily climbing after each outing.
I will be able to give you all the results after about 1000 mile in a couple of weeks.
With the unlimited miles/5 year warranty & 100,000 miles 7 year gear train warranty, I would recommend the car to anyone.
The only little niggle so far is the accelerator pedal is a little high.
Thanks Alarmin on your Cee'd comments. I will look for your future posts. The only chance I had to drive the Cee'd myself was on our closed circuit testing track but plan to take one home for a while. I personally think the upcoming trim xR will impress those wanting more punch and road handling. Look for the xR post I made on the forum in this same section that you worte it. I believe if you get a chance Alarmin. When you say accelerator pedal is a little high, I made note of it. Thanks.
The peddle thing is only a niggle, I am sure when the seats have 'settled' and my right leg gets used to the position everything will be fine.
Re the xR I have had a look and post a little comment about it's rear looking a lot better than my current one. It does look good, though my 'boy racer' days are a long time ago now. I will just stick to the regular models.
As I said, as soon as I have clocked up some more mileage I will make add to the post, hopefully they will all be positive, but I believe that without negative (constructive negative) nothing improves.

Hi Alarmin, thanks for replying. I definitely don't mind constructive critiques that have substance behind them. Kia has improved greatly by its past issues that were not often positive in some markets. Compliments don't hurt neither!
I have not racked up much milage yet as my jobs have been fairly close to home.
A few little 'niggles' that I would like to know if there are any 'work arounds'?
The electric windows will only work when the ignition key is turned all they way (without starting the engine), is there a way that the windows can be configured to operate when the ignition is turned just the once, as the audio system does?
As I am a smoker, ( I know, nasty and bad for you!!) I tend to have to turn the ignition all the way, open the windows, then turn the ignition back to ACC so I can listen to the radio etc.
Could it also be possible to add a 'total closure' whereby when the vehicle is locked with the key fob, the windows are sent a pulse to close them?
I had this facility on my previous vehicle (Renault Laguna 1.9DCi Sports Tourer) which I found realy usefull.
Cheers all.

Trip computer =
Total Miles 925 miles
Average Speed 26 MPH
Hours Run 34:36 Hrs/min
Average MPG 43.7 MPG
Not quite the official figures as:
official Government Test Figures) mpg (l/100km)
Urban (cold) 49.6 (5.7)
Extra-urban 67.3 (4.2)
Combined 60.1 (4.7)
As can be seen above, I have not done much motorway driving, hence the ave speed being 26MPH. Also, the car has not fully bedded in yet, so I am expecting the MPG to improve (it has been improving all the time).
No serious complaints about the car at all. My right leg has gotten used to the slightly 'high' accelerator pedal. I have still not got used to the windows only working when the ignition is at the 'full on' position (either engine running or stopped).
I still cant get the boot/luggage light to work though, if no one here can come up with a solution I can always nip back to the dealers, who by the way, have been very helpful.
On another note, rear end damage has still not been rectified! (slow insurance companies)

Hi Alarmin!
I see you are the first Ceed owner on this forum.
Congratulations on your new Kia.
I have some questions for you:
How are you satisfied with your Ceed? Would you buy it again?
Did you compare it to other cars in it's class and why did you choose Ceed?
What are other people reactions when they see it?Do people like it or not?
I have not had much reaction from others (the damaged rear doesn't help) but I still haven't seen another one on the road yet, and I only live 3 miles from the main dealer.
Well chuffed.....

2000 miles now, still very happy about the Cee'd.
Now averaging 48 MPG, not quite the 60.1 official figures, but I have been doing a lot of driving in built up areas, just had one run from Home to Aylesbury then London and back.
I wish I could get the rear end repaired soon though.
