Check engine light

how do you manually check the code when your check engine light is on.
on one of my older cars you place the key in acc move shifter to N switch key to off and do other steps like this and the check engine light- would blink and that was your code. can you do this with a kia?

Please state your van's year and engine type

Though Its unlikely you can use the lamp indicator method.
That does not work with OBDII
