Default Swivel Seats

Hi all,

A little confused here !

Do all the different models of Sedona allow for the middle seats to be swiveled to face the rear seats ?
Some make mention of it, some dont
How do I know which model to look for ?

Thanks in anticipation.

I wondered the same...it seems that the older Sedonas (< 2001) with the rear bench seat had swivel seats.....after that they were fixed.

I did consider buying a single middle seat and swapping it for mine so the Mrs could feed the baby in the car, but it smelt like cat wee so i never bothered

Hi Nick
This one has got me wondering aswell. Emporer Ming could well be right about the early models and my handbook says (if equipped). There's a similar problem with the rearmost seats. When I test drove the Sedona at the Poole dealer in 2004 these seats adjusted back and forwards. Thats handy I thought. Guess what, I took delivery of my Sed in late november 2004 and they were fixed. A bit annoyed I asked why and was told the spec had changed. It seems Kia can change the spec for no reason but I bet its cost cutting, and the handbook says (if equipped) again.

Regards John

Mine is a 2000 model and has the swivelling middle seats (how lucky am i?) I think your theory is right. They got to a point and just fitted them with ones that only faced forwards.

Hi all,

It gets more strange, according to Honest John ( Daily Telegraph ) all LS models are fitted with them ?

Can anyone confirm that has an LS ?

Thanks all for your replies.

Mine is a March 2004 model and has swivel seats. My problem is how do I remove the bloody things. I haven't got the ownwers manual and any I have found on line bear no resemblance to the seats fitted to my Sedona.

BTW it is an LS model

If you look carefully underneath the middle seats on most carnival/sedonas you will see they have the swivel mechanism, if your car was made for a country that doesn't allow swivel seats then they fit a bolt thru the turntable track mechanism to lock it in the forward facing position.
Find and remove the bolt and the seat can be made to swivel if you really want it.

Thanks for the reply. My swivel seats are all ok, UK,1999 model EXEC Version. My problem is I cant find a way to remove the rear and centre seats....I am starting to think maybe on my model, they are designed not to be removed?
