Default Please help re broken door handle

Hi,
My 2003 Petrol Kia Sedona 2.5 LX passenger door handle has lost its hinge pin "not sure if that's the correct name" and now comes partially out of the door when opened, hard to explain hope the two following images will help:

I visited www.kiatechinfo.com and was able to download an exploded view of the door but any practical advice on what part I need to buy and what steps are needed to fit the handle would be most appreciated.

Regards

John

havent had a problem with a front door but myself and several other members have had similar failures with the sliding door handles i personally fixed(?) mine with a hex key i had spare dropped through the handle but i think your first step should be to take the door liner off and have a look at the back of the handle to ensure it is just the pin that has failed and if so sort out a suitable part to replace it

I too have had to replace a sliding door handle over the last couple of weeks due the the hinged part of the handle actually snapping, not the pin coming out but snapping the hinge.

I thought i would get away with just having to chage the chrome part, but no, they are not available separately so you have to buy the whole lot. About £45 later, i tried swapping the chrome parts over but the must have changed the designs of them slightly since my car was built back in 2000 as the new ones also have plastic pins whereas my old one had nice rusted metal ones. So i had to shell out some money to have the door handle surround painted.

Does the list never end...? At least it was easy to fit...

Thanks for the reply's guys, I'll whip off the door panel and see whats up, is the door panel straightforward to remove? don't want to snap anything.

Cheers

John
