Default Help! Problem with '02 Sedona Strut Replacement

Hello,
I am in the process of replacing my struts on an '02 Sedona and ran into a little SNAFU.

I have the original strut components apart on my Drivers side and am ready to install onto the new unit. The problem is this: the mounting block (which sits just above the top of the spring) is a tapered steel unit. Prior to removing, I did not mark the location of this in relation to the strut. Does anyone know exactly how this mounting block sits...in relation to the strut? I looked on the Passenger side to see how it located over there...but it is difficult to see up underneath with that side still installed on the vehicle.

Has anyone replaced one recently and remember the orientation?

Never mind...I got it. I just paralled the existing slope of the lower part of the strut.

you may want to rethink your location of the strut tops, they are infact alignment factors, there is a proper place to put them. On the drivers side when looking at the top of the strut you see a little nipple on the strut top, that will go on facing the front of the van to the passenger side. And the passenger side strut will line up faceing rear of van on the drivers side. If it sounds confusing let me know and i may be able to make it easier.

I believe that YardbirdX11 is not referring to the actual strut bearing with the 4 mounting studs, but the actual upper spring seat. In the case of the alignment of the upper and lower spring seats, the parallel relationship will work and you can double check to ensure that inner space between the strut rod is closer to the inside spring opposite of the lower mounting holes. Your point to ensure that original caster/camber setting based upon the rubber nipple location is correct too when the strut assembly is mounted to the van.

Hello,
Yes , I was talking about the upper spring seat...not the 4 bolt strut top with the nipple. I had marked the location of that nipple in advance...so as not to have a reinstallation problem.
Thanks
