Default Wheel changing tools location - UK 2.9 CRDi

Hi all,

Thankfully I've never had any tyre failures in running my Sedona for the last 3yrs. But I had an incident last weekend with a double axle caravan I was towing in France.
I knew the Sedona had a scissor jack in the rear washer bottle compartment, but unfortunately I couldn't locate the jack handle.

The way I managed to change the caravans front wheel was to reverse it up a kerb in a service area ( not ideal , but it got me home to England.... )

So today I'm studying my cars owners manual and all it says about the jack handle and wheel nut wrench is that they are located in "A TOOL BAG IN THE CARGO AREA"

Can anyone please elaborate on this ?

It's in the same location as the jack, in a bag with the jack handle - which would suggest yours is missing !!

On a side note, have you checked the water pipes to the rear heater lately??
2weeks back one of the steel pipes rusted thro' (Friday afternoon just before we were due to set of to Somerset from Norwich with the van - took until 12:00 Sat to fix)

Look at my previous posts , I've already experienced the rusty heater pipes issue.

Re the wheel changing kit , I didn't think there was enough room next to the jack. It would be great to see a picture of the tools to help me visualise. Maybe mine have fell down inside the body panel....

E-bod,
In my wheel kit i have a bar with a hook on one end and a flathead on the other.
The flathead slips into a slot on the wheelbrace and this is used to rotate the hooked bar. Not a very good system i'm afraid.

I've found the tool bag, it was stuffed out of view in the same recess as the scissor jack.

Its a dark heavy cloth ( like donkey jacket mat'l ) bag with three tools. A double ended screw driver , a wheel nut wrench and an 'L' shaped jack handle.

I must say the scissor jack and handle are crap. I tried to lift up the cars rear offside and it felt like I was going to break it. I gave up before I did.

Has anyone here managed to actually use the scissor jack to raise the car ?

( at home I have a two and a four tonne trolley jack, so thats why I've never used the car's standard equipment )

maybe i am mad but i have used the standard jack but i made sure it was securely located in place and also ensured the screw and pivot points were well lubricated but when at home i use my 3 ton trolley jack well since the sedona killed my cheapy 2 ton one i have to
ttfn glenn
ps whenever i jack up a car i always bung the spare wheel underneath so if it all goes pear shaped the wheel acts like an axle stand
fact if it can go wrong it will and when it does it will happen too fast to do anything about it
