Default Sedona bonnet air intake missing?

Hi
I have an 03 Sedona 2.5LX, no complaints apart from the 20mpg fuel consumption, one query I have is that all other 03 Sedonas I've seen on the road have an air intake on the top of the bonnet and mine doesn't.
Anyone know why?

I'll try & help then some can come & shoot me down

From your sig you have the 2.5 engine, this I believe is a petrol engine yes ?

The air intake you refer to on other Sedonas is, I think, the Intercooler intake fitted to the Diesel engines, & as yours is petrol no intercooler !

Fire proof overalls are now on

Thanks SteveN, yes you are correct I am petrol so not having an intercooler would suggest no air intake, I guess the petrol version is just not popular .

Many Thanks for the explanation

John

he's right, you have a petrol version with the Rover KV6 engine, if you do a search for Landrover Freelander engine problems (same engine) you;ll see why everyone else has the Diesel engine!

My friends only managed 54000 miles before the head gaskets went.

Thanks for the info pepper, athough I was led to believe that this problem had be resolved in the KV6 engine post 2002.

nah sorry, Rover never managed to stop the headgasket issues before they went bust either. I'd always keep a very close eye on your water levels if I were you, apart from that and the awful fuel consumption the engine was lovely.
