Default Mileage per gallon - 2.9CRDi Sedona Auto

Hi All

New to the forum having just bought our Sedona. I have just filled up and I'm getting less than 19 MPG - I'm horrified at this - is this the kind of consumption I should expect - or is some re-tuning required ?

Thanks in advance:

Well thats actualy good, considering the sedona 3.5v6 gasoline gets aroung 20mph down hill with the wind at your back
Just kidding you should take it back to the dealer if it is under warranty

our 02 diesel returns over 40 miles per gallon on a run but does use a bit more on shorter journeys but in my opinion if you are only getting 19mpg you seem to have a problem a couple of suggestions do you have a fuel leak ? is some lowlife draining your tank ? since you have just bought your car take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it
best of luck glenn

Thanks Glenn

but is yours the auto ?

I didn't expect great mileage but was hoping for around 25mpg in town and 30-35 on runs.
No-ones draining my fuel - but maybe there are tuning issues - I probably need to get it into a Kia Dealership

I have a 53 auto - I get around 30 mpg overall, slightly more if I go on longer motorway runs.

19 is just frightening

Default 33mph in the UK

Coming up to 100,000 miles on my July05 2.9CRDi Auto. Very consistent 33mpg that only varies if I push the speed over 80 for any length of time when it can drop below 30mpg.

Strangely though this seems to drop to about 28mpg when driving in Spain. I suppose hard use of the A/C and a few more mountains than I usually encounter could account for it, but I've often wondered if there is a difference in the fuel over there.
