Question Alternative oil filter for Sedona?

I'm searching for an larger capacity oil filter that will fit on the Sedona instead to the fram ph3593a? The factory and after market filter are a little limited in size for the V6 engine any info would be helpfull.

You might want to stick with the stock filter, or at least have one on hand if you have engine problems. Heard that Kia service at the dealer might give you a hard time if non-OEM filter is not in place.

But you are right the PH3593A is physically very small. The stock one is larger in diameter.

You could always get a perma-cool adapter to relocate the filter, this kit uses a PH-1 (common Ford V8) filter. I was looking to do something like this, but lower engine belt and pulley may interfere with the adapter hose routing.

Also, be careful in just finding a larger replacement filter to screw into the original location, internal valving of the filter may not work with the Sedona motor. Also, diameter of the seal ring must be the same.

Thanks for the advice, but I think it would be best to stick with the small filter, instead of the adapter. Our local Walmart sells them for $2.50 each and they comply with the warranty.

Isn't that engine a mitsubishi based engine? Probably the one in the Mitsubishi Diamante, might be worth checking out anyway.

The 2008 V6 Hyundai Santa Fe uses the same filter. I was thinking of using Mobil 1 oil to extend the time between oil changes and was wondering if any of the filters mentioned above will work with the Mobil 1 oil or does anyone know the number for the Mobil 1 oil filter that will work with our common engine? Thanks ... Ken - Northern VA
