Default Sluggish in changing gears and Engine Check

Hi All
My Sedona 2.9 auto takes an age to change up gears and the revs go over 3000rmp.
When going up a hill the the check engine light comes on, I suspect this is due to the slow gear change.

What is wrong do you think? IS IT MAJOR!!!!!

Should I reset the engine light by removing the battery?

Just been fully serviced and in now worse, I was told that the management unit maybe using old values and not updated itself, I dont know anythng about this stuff so have to rely on other.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I really love forums, no one is on the make and always willing to help.....I hope

Sorry to hear of your problems. Rather than reset the CEL, have the codes read. That may give you some insight into what's going on. It could be anything from a buggy computer to a failing tranny.

Don't panic. I was just tryng to make the point that what you described can be caused by any number of things from somewhat minor all the way to major so get the codes read to know for sure.

Here in the States, some auto parts shops will let you know the codes if they have the correct scanner. More expensive, consider a repair shop or (most expensive) a Kia dealership.

Thanks Christian
I will search around in the UK for someone who can check the codes. Thanks for the time.
