Default Trailer hitch wiring

Hello, I just installed a trailer hitch on my 05' sedona. I installed the brake light wiring as per instructions as well. The only problem I have is finding a way to get the plug end under the car. The instructions say to feed the wiring behind the side trim panel into the tire jack compartment. Easy enough, but I can find no access hole through the body to feed the wiring through. It's a flat-4 plug so it's about 1/4 inch by maybe 2 inches. I have the 7 way plug attached to the bumper with it's female flat-4 end. I don't want to drill if I don't have to.

The wiring kit I used comes out of the jack storage area and simply gets the tailgate shut on wires. The flat four connector and about 5 feet of wire store nicely in the storage area.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I understand. How do you get the flat four connector underneath the car to plug into the 7 way socket ?

Oh wait, are you saying the 5 feet of wire just hangs out the bottom of your tailgate over your rear bumper and plugs in from the outside ? I was hoping there was an access hole so that it would be a neater installation that was not noticable.

No hole, it runs out through the tailgate rubber weather stripping when in use. Otherwise, the wire and connector are stored in the access panel with the jack. Not quite ideal, but it keeps the connector out of the weather.

Ok, that's fine too. The instructions did say after all the plugging in, to run the connector to the jack compartment. I just thought there was something after that. LOL. Well then I guess my install job is complete. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Default hole under lights

if you want to run a permanent instal you can run the cable through from the jack compartment to the rear light void (take light out) which has a rubber grommet or bung in the bottom of it . take the bung out feed cable through cable/zip tie it in place cut a slot in the bung, wrap around cable and press back into place

So the hole where the gromet is goes through the body down to under the car, would end up on the outside ? I'll take a look. Thank you.
