Hello,

To add to my woes of the last couple of weeks, yesterday , Hanger lane, West London, British Gas Van tried to squese pass me and I'm stantionary, it took out my Drivers wing mirror.

We changed details through open windows and there's no other damage accept to the miror and housing.

Generaly I'd let it go but I'm in a fighting mood at the moment.

How much would a housing and mirror in the vehicle colour + labour be if Kia did it?

I had exactly the same thing, only it was a motorhome rather than a gas van ! I was quoted about £200 plus the cost of painting by the dealer for a new one. Luckily although the mechanism was broken the housing was OK. I used a site called BreakerLink.com - basically you fill in the details of what you need and this is visible to vehicle breakers. I got a call the next day from a breaker with a wing mirror available for £70 complete and it was posted to me for the next day. As I only needed the mechanism the colour didn't matter and I just swapped the mechanism over. Might be worth a try ?

Thanks Tony,

I went to my local Kia dealer today who sent me off to their local body shop, nice chap, had a look, "said will replace the mirror, housing and all", Murph' says around £350-00, I bet he's not far short, it may be more, still the company will pay for it, so I not to bothered.

Still £70-00 that's a good result.
