Gday all,

I was wondering if anybody has had a problem with their side doors. My (2001 Carni) drivers side door is scraping the bottom edge of the side window. Its still in its tracks but Im thinking something may have worked its way loose and sagged (hmmm middle age spread comes to mind), additionally, the rollers arent running as smoothly as they were a few weeks ago. I think somebody wrote in with a similiar but i couldnt find it in a search.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Did the problem have anything to do with failed bushings in the center track?

Well done inky !! yes unfortunately it looks like the better part of a $300-$400 repair for a $0.10 part.........I can buy a lot of WD40 for the tracks for $300.

I'm going to attempt this repair myself. I've been putting it off but the door is starting to get more difficult to slide so I need to get to it. I'll document when I do.

If you opt not to repair, you might try some thicker grease. Might have better staying power than WD40.

Got it done.

Here's the step-by-step for anyone else who has this problem:

Actually I bought them (2 sets) off of eBay from a guy who claimed to be a Kia mechanic. He said he wanted to try to save someone money over what a dealer charges for the job. I would think that any metal tubing that is slightly larger than the metal studs onto which it'll have to fit would work when cut to length. The ones I used are aluminum and I packed the gap with grease. Still working great!
