Is anyone else getting rust on their Sedona hoods? I think mine started with small stone chips and VERY quickly rusted. I spoke with the dealer and he said any vehicle will rust when it gets stone chips on it. The best he could do for me was touch it up with touch-up paint and then sell me a bug deflector! Come on! I think it is completely unacceptable for a van that is under 2 years old to have rust, under any circumstances. My wife's car ('91 Sundance) has no rust anywhere including the stone peppered hood.
I guess I'll see what Kia's customer service is really like. I want this fixed free of charge and not just with touch-up.

I side with the dealer on this one. Any car will rust if the paint chip is deep enough to go down to bare metal and the owner doesn't touch up the spot as soon as possible. Some brands have thicker layers of paint than Kia and Hyundai so paints chips really have to be deep to reach the bare metal. My old Camry had plenty of hood and bumper chips but no rust.

The frustration you feel is the same frustration most Kia owners feel including myself. Unfortunately, all I can do is check my car for any problems before they start. Btw, my 02 Optima has no rust since I had treated the front with a clear plastic mask that bonds to the paint. It is not the black mask you see on some cars. Extra wax has been applied to the entire car by a detail shop twice a year.

Wait till your tail gate starts rusting through around the chrome finisher!

Most cars these days are glavanised at the factory I don't think Kia have got around to this yet!

My second car has stone chips on the bonnet, with no rust coming through. You just hardly need to look at the paint on a Sedona and it starts to rust. As I have said in my earlier post these Kia's seem to be a load of rubbish. My Sedona has just turned 4 years old and every chip on the bonnet has started to rust. I have never had to touch up any of the stone chips on my other car, and none have rusted.

LOAD OF RUBBISH IS YOU ASK ME

Fotunately we don't seem to have the rust problem in Australia like the uk.I'm just wondering if they all come through the same paintshop. It may also have something to do with it being a bit warmer & drier over here.

The OP was from Canada. He's probably dealing with a lot of wet weather and road salt. Here in the Southwest USA, I deal with very little rust.
