It's on its way to being seized, as all parts had cooled, and contracted it free'd up again.

Is this problem to do with the failure of some pipes carying the oil??

Seem to remember this one from my journeys on the net over the past couple of days.

If I find will post again.

Ashley

Sorry that was the coolant pipes on a recent post called

rear heater-pipes-hoses

Funny though for some reason I do remember something about oil pipes...

I must agree with you, the stress of this battle with KIA is taking it's toll on me (I am on a disability pension been out of life for 7 years, trying to recover and this is not helping)

They are just completely stonewalling.

But I'm still looking on the wider net for that reference to pipes, maybe they were Bagpipes from scotland.....

Have a great day....

Finally found it. it was actually a valve seal leak and not a pipe. It just goes to show that these darn mechanical terms just blurr into one for the uninitiated.

It appears, oil pump failure, causing engine seize through heat, as somebody else mentioned, waiting on garage repair to see what else may be wrong, hopefully nothing... Initial replacement oil pump and cam bearings from what i can gather, other half spoke to them, and see how it runs and sounds.. will let you know final outcome

Hello Crikey,

I think Murph' posted reacently that on early Sedona's there were oil pump
failures., you might want to speak to Kia UK and chance your hand.
