it is an '03 CRDI 2.9 SE AUTO with 40,000 miles hopefully with a new stereo and dvd player. although I havn't decided whether or not we will get a portable dvd replacement, and I will buy a replacement roof mounted one and fit myself.

I will be selling it with a 12 month MOT, 6 months tax and the 40,000 mile service.

it says on parker between 9 and 10 K... ?

we are thinking of selling it to buy two smaller cars so my wife can start learning to drive, although for a 7K - 8K loss in 2 years I am thinking otherwise.

Sedona tends to hold it's value fairly well, but if your selling beware the new one will be launching in the uk very soon, so that'll give the olds one another hit in the value.

thanks for both the encouragement and heads up. we will see - I must say apart from the fuel consumption which I still do not fully understand I have had no problems since the ECU was replaced.

I drove to newcastle 241miles at between 50 and 60 mph all the way.. filled up with 31.99 litres I think that became 34 mpg the best I have ever got but still miles away from 40mpg, I drove back at 95mph and got 32.5mpg - I think I would prefer to pay the additional £1.50 for a better drive. this fuel consumption problem IS related to startup and shutdown fuel costs, I honestly believe it costs possibly £1 to start the engine from cold without travelling anywhere.

I know reliability is one of your major concerns.
How about a payg warranty?

Feck me £400 odd quid a year, better off putting it into a deposit account each month to pay for the servicing and the contingencies!

£400 is less than the kia price.

the ECU is £1200 for part only
god knows how much a new gearbox or engine is.

we are selling it purely to enable my wife to learn to drive. I will be buying her a heap of s**t next month to practise in (maybe a kia pride I saw one on ebay for £75) then when she can drive, maybe an old zafira for the family car - for her, and me an old 323 coupe. about time I started experiencing a mid life crisis I think. they should come to about 10K I don't mind having old cars it means I have no issue servicing and repairing them within reason.
