Hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me. Recently someone bought me an MP3 player for my 2005 kia carnival. only problem is, i cant get the old cd player out to install my new mp3. its been driving me crazy. I've had everyone i know look to see if they can get it out but no matter what anyone does, we just cant seem to detatch this old cd player... can anyone please help me?????
If you mean the facia to get at existing unit do a search in the sedona/carnival section, (facia removal), it's all there, it's a pretty straight forward job.
Once exposed, to remove the existing you'll need a couple of U pins,(a few cents), which you firmly but gently push down either side of the existing, then pull out the unit.
Mines a UK 02 diesel so I'm having to guess your facia ain't so diffrent neither is the procedure.
Your existing unit may sit in a cage which may not fit the new unit and you have to change this cage, it's a Kia part only----I think------which is a pain.
Hope this helps and watch your knuckles and chin

I wasn't going to answer because here in the UK we probably have different radio systems to you guys over there, even though we have the same dashboards.
Mine is a VDO radio which as seacam says you pull the surround from the front edge of the radio then slide the two U pins into the holes and pull the radio out.
ha ha someone got a huge screwdriver and ripped everything out the front console at the weekend, I will say it damages the buttons and loom and facia and dash board. so I don't suggest you use this method.
they also took it upon themselves to trash the leather seat by knealing on the broken glass whilst wrecking the roof pulling off the dvd monitor and trashed the underside of the drivers seat trying to get the dvd player out.
twats..
I am a big believer in kama.. (after watching my name is earl) so I must have done something bad.. and in return I hope something bad happens to them. they have cost me £200 in excess, time and trouble and an extra £150 in insurance a year.
perhaps they should consider alarms for the sedonas.. it would have only cost me £60 for a new window then
Tough luck Clartsonly,
I've been there myself. The trouble is you can never catch them can you? I know what I would do if I did catch them. They're absolute low life, the scum of the earth.
quotation of items for insurance claim.. please remember that this is a garage making sure everything is gonna be perfect afterwards.
liner for drivers window,
front leather seats skins,
wiring loom repair or replacement
front console
complete dashboard (due to screwdriver dents from removal)
I should have said the carpets were ruined by them too.
cd stereo player,
dvd player
dvd monitor
4 sets of infrared headphones.
( I want to be able to swap the dvd solution for a portable version so that it does not need to stay in the car, and a covering plate for the existing hole in the roof.. perhaps murphwhiz knows if one of these exists already -please let me know. thanks. then when I sell the car I will get a replacement screen. to put back there.)
