My wife mentioned this problem to me but thought it was because we were running low on gas. I figured I wouldn't worry about it until it happened again. Well, this morning, it happened again.

Vehicle parked overnight. Started it and drove about two minutes to first stop sign. No problems. About five minutes to the stop light. No problems. Starting back up after being parked at light for less than a minute, in quick succession, I get power, no power, power, no power... (sorta like what running out of gas feels like). I pulled off to the side and coasted to allow a couple of cars to pass, then hit the accelerator. It picked up speed fast and well. No problems until I had to slow down and make a turn and then it started again. This time less severe and not as long. Made it to work without further problem.

No check engine or other lights. Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Transmission? Ignition system?

How many miles since changing fuel filter? I'd start there. Maybe add some drygas to tank. Sounds like a fuel issue since other problems would probably generate a check light.

Good question. Since I just got it in January, I have no idea when the filter was last changed. I did pick one up a few weeks ago in anticipation of needing to do this. I hope it's the filter and not the pump.

Problem has not resurfaced so far. I'll get that new filter in and see what happens.

There is a service bulletin about this. I have the same problem when starting first thing in the morning. The bulletin says that the ECM (computer) needs an update. I am scheduled to have this checked into Monday.
