Hi guys I have a 2000 Carnival/sedona and lately when driving at various speeds there is a loud thud then the car revs and neutral light flashes. If you stop and restart car it goes properly again for a while then it will happen again. It has been in the shop twice and the last time they said they had fixed by changing speed sensor, guess what 100kms later and its doing it again only more regularly..HELP..they want to change the Transmission, could it have been a faulty new sensor, or something else...

In the past, was it doing it constantly? If so, did replacing the sensor fix it (until now)? If so, I think it's logical to think that perhaps the new sensor has gone bad. If not, might well be the transmission.

Thanks Christian, just found out that when they replaced the sensor they only replaced the input sensor and apparently there is an output sensor as well that is giving a faulty code, fingers crossed when they replace this it will fix it... will let you know, cheaper than a transmission...
I know its been two years, but my Carnival 2000 started that this week. Can you give any feedback? Is it somthing that can be done by anybody, or does ir require expert mechanics from KIA?
