I got a recall notice to have the wiring checked under the drivers seat

something to do with a wire possibly breaking and shorting out the loom.

Got my recall notice aswell. Need to ring dealers and get it booked in. Don't know whether the will be able to see anything, got 6 disc autochanger and DVD player under driver's seat.

Has anyone noticed the coolant hose at the left hand side of the engine bay, which if I remember correctly connects the top of the radiator to what looks like the thermostat housing. Mine seems to be rubbing against the intercooler casing. I have cable tied it to the windscreen washer bottle. Don't know what the sleeve of foam around the hose is supposed to do, but priory to my temporary repair whenever I opened the bonnet there was quite a hit of foam scattered around this area.

Though I'd much prefer a recall for the useless handbrake. Was rolling away on a slight incline at our farm yesterday.

I didn't get a recall notice but did call a dealer today to get some service estimates. I asked about recalls and he mentioned this one. He said they fix the problem by adding a piece of plastic.

Doesn't take long, just check wiring and add a couple of bit to the seat frame to prevent chaffing.

As for the handbrake.. not the best deisgn in the world, but if correctly adjusted should be quite effective.

Why is it that some Sedonas have handbrakes? Is it a UK thing? Diesels only?

BTW, Murphwiz, what years are your SAABs?

UK Sedonas have a handbrake between the front seats, US term I believe is park brake or 'e' brake.

I'm now down to 1 saab, 2001 9-5 Aero, did have a c900 T16, and before that a 9-5 lpt and a 9000 turbo.
