Hello,

While trawling through the net yesterday for insurance companies I came across two forums who had Sedona members.

All 11 of them had problems with the diesel pump, all but one were just out of waranty, all had done less then 45,000 mile.

One guy had had to fork out £3000 to get his car sorted, apparently Kia know of this problem and are ignoring it.

One of the members suggested all banding together and taking Kia UK to court.

Does any one know of this problem.

There was a issue with fuel system contamination, getting rare now though.

Murphwiz, can you elaborate on the symptoms , extents of failures etc.

Ever since I got my CRDi, the sedimentor light has been on even though I completely removed and drained the filter.

No apparent pattern, mainly on the earlier common rail cars, contaminted fuel system, the parts begin to wear, and fill the fuel system with metal particles, metal particles being thrown about at 1300 bar... not good!

Quick and simple check, remove fuel filter, drain contents into a clear container, see how much debris you get, and use a magnet under the container to see if it's metal or not.
