I have just had my second set of front pads fitted, I managed to get it done for £55 when halfords sold the pads for £60 (it was supposed to be £72 - but I got a discount ). I have done 29,000 miles and will expect the brakes to be good for about 7000 miles until they start fading scrapping again. I do have some scoring on the disks but hey ho - when I am rich I will get them changed.

Check the disc thickness, minimum is 24mm, they do wear quick from what i've seen max of 3 pads changes per set of discs.

Its the modern brake pad compounds coupled with a two ton vehicle which eat discs so quickly. I drive a transit on a daily basis which is an 03 plate, its on its 3rd set of discs at 65,000 miles. I have it up at its Max load weight every day so really punish the brakes, its also had new drums and shoes at the rear at the last service too.

Oh and Clartsonly, Kwik Fit will always tell you your discs are knackered, normally along with all your dampers too.
