Thanks for the TSB information, when I called my dealer that I normally where I have previous service. I had to leave a message with the service manager. Never got a call back. My noise is minimal though. I wanted to get the strut mounts fixed before I installed my Intrax lowering springs. I went ahead and installed the springs with the original mounts (I have about 30,000 miles). No difference in the noise from the struts. Springs really enchance the handling, or at least the feel of the van.

On a side note, I can remove each strut in about 10 minutes with an air gun. With the lowering springs, I no longer need a spring compressor to remove the strut mounts and springs. If I don't get the dealer replacements, aftermarket companies are making the mounts now. Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto you can get them for $60 each. I can wait now with more peace of mind.

I live in Sacramento, CA USA - Seems that the KYB's are not availble in the US as of yet.

Good question. I am going to ask mine about it tomorrow while I have it in.

The clunking noise does exist, but I believe that there is another source of noise that can compound the strut noise problem. A few weeks ago, I had the hood up and I noticed that most of the fastners holding the front grille were loose. I tightened them all up with a 10mm socket wrench and some noise went away. Again, the strut noise is seperate, and the loose grille can compound the problem.

Hi everyone,

It looks like it's been a while since the last post on this subject. I have a 2005 Sedona with 50K on it. This noise started at about 30K and got worse. Finally took it to the dealer and received the same answers as everyone else has stated. So that left me to search and find this message board.

I'm assuming that there never was an official fix?
Is there something that we "shade-tree mechanics" can do to stop this clunking? Perhaps shim something?

Your thoughts please,

Bob
