Hi there, I am a proud owner of a KIA carnival classic 2002. I have been experiencing woosing sound from the engine when I cruise between 75km/h to 85km/h since the day I purchase the car. Is this normal? Has anybody experience this problem? It is quite irritating to listen to noise.

The other second problem is whenever I am slowing down and braking and/or turning at a junction, there is always a little knocking sound near the from tyre area.I suspect it is either the ABS brakes or the suspension coil or shock absorber? Does anybody encountered this problem?

Thanks.

Wooshing?? Is it diesel or petrol?

Diesel, could be a split air hose on the intercooler / turbo. Is there a loss of power? Could simply be a noisey turbo cutting in & out.

Petrol, No idea.

ABS working would result in a vibrating (pulsing) feeling through the brake pedal. Can't see it would cause a knocking sound near the rear tyre. More likely to be suspension or ARB joint related if heard going over bumps.
