kia carnival 2005 ls

hi i drove my kia carnival 2005 for an hour the temperature gauge needle between 2/4 mark and 3/4 mark . (just have water pump and timing belt changed ) normal or not? can anyone help? thanks Fanny

pre 2006 kia carnival temperature should always be just under half-way mark.
Anything more than that is a symptom of a fault, or wrong type of coolant.

Note that plain water will just boil around the cylinders.
Needs the glygol.

Its highly likely to have an air lock after the maintenance work.
Drive until engine gets upto operating temp, then let cool until all expansion bottle finished sucking back.
Best to cool overnight.
May need a week of that to come good.

Anything more serious, not so easy to fix.
Check that radiator is getting fully heated across its surface.
(That checks the water pump is working)
Sometimes even new pumps have impellor slippage on their shafts.
